Mayor Murray is sure the Seahawks will win the Super Bowl on February 2.  How sure is he?

Seattle- January 28, 2014 - To demonstrate his confidence that the Seattle Seahawks will win the Super Bowl, Mayor Murray has placed a bet on the outcome with Denver’s mayor, Michael Hancock.

If, as he expects, the Seahawks win, Mayor Hancock has pledged to, among other things, donate a signed Broncos item to be auctioned off in support of Lifelong AIDS Alliance in Seattle.  In addition, the mayor of Denver has agreed to work an entire day in an outfit selected by the Lifelong Thrift Store staff.

The bet is not without risk, however, for Mayor Murray.  In the event of an improbable Seahawks loss, he must send Mayor Hancock a hand-made Seahawks themed road bike, a green and blue Chihuly art piece, and a variety of local seafood.  Mayor Murray would also have to wear Denver Broncos pajamas for the entire day on the first Thursday after the Super Bowl.

“I’m fairly confident that what I’m putting on the line isn’t going anywhere,” said Mayor Murray at a press conference to announce the wager.
